The only things that didn’t really impress me was that one can only watch TV in 1080p only and that there’s too much self-promotion on the Amazon platform. What’s even more, I could allocate about 6 different profiles for my family to sort themselves out whenever they want to use the Fire TV Stick. It was so easy for me to find TV shows, Films, Kids and Family categories, as well as genres like drama, comedy, thriller and documentaries all on one menu option. To be honest, the new interface is one other thing that really impressed me about this Fire TV Stick. To make things even easier, I can just use voice commands instead of having to press buttons to navigate the interface. However, I could use the blue button to tell Alexa to play certain shows, find movies I would like to watch, play my music, show me the weather forecast, turn my smart lights on and off, and a whole other bunch of things Alexa can do. I was excited when I found other buttons dedicated for Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Music, and Amazon Prime Video. Surprisingly, Alexa isn’t the central concentration of the Fire TV Stick. What I noticed was the new remote design of the new 3rd gen Fire TV that also features Alexa voice remote for more functionality. After some of the lockdown restrictions were lifted, I felt it would be a great idea to have something to keep my family entertained and distracted from all the COVID-19 news out there.Īfter doing my research, I decided to go for Amazon’s 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick that only cost me $39.99 to buy.
